The EU3 react to Iran

Reuters shows how mighty is their fury in the face of the actions and death-threats of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:

EU patience with Tehran has been wearing thin for months. The EU3 broke off negotiations with Iran after it resumed uranium processing in August but resumed talks last month. European anger intensified after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently called for Israel to be “wiped off the map” and doubted that 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust. EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana will be joining German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Straw and their French counterpart Philippe Douste-Blazy at the meeting in Berlin. “The situation is extremely serious and gives us very great cause for concern. Iran has violated the 2004 Paris Agreement with the EU under which it suspended part of its nuclear program,” Solana’s spokeswoman Cristina Gallach said. She said Iran must promise not to begin enriching uranium, otherwise it would risk referral to the Security Council. “That could in turn lead to economic sanctions,” she said.

Ooohhh! Economic sanctions! Heaven forfend! Scary economic sanctions with their huge mushroom cloud and 10,000 dregree fireball. Oh, wait….economic sanctions don’t do that at all.

Okay, let’s try this. Imagine the trmeors created in Tehran: economic sanctions! emergency meeting of the IAEA! the EU3 in serious discussions! possible referral to the Security Council! Ahmadinejad must be quaking…..with laughter.

Hold up, it just says “COULD” lead to. We still have may, might almost certainly, should in the near term, eventually result in, will without an indication of good faith, and seriously considering, before we get to meeting to discuss…

And then of course double secret probation.
