Technology and radical decentralization

Wretchard his usual excellent thinking combined with some very obscure references to speculate on the radical decentralization, at least on a micro level, that is upon us. There’s more conventional thinking over at Reason, but it’s worthwhile adding into the mix all the same. It’s certainly true that the technologies of recent years push towards decentralization, atomization, or whatever. But the dramatic increase in violent tribalism and fundamentalist religious zealotry have (paradoxically?) been fed by some of these same leveling technologies. It’s a little early to jump to conclusions and wars have a way of changing things in a way few anticipate.

Oh yes, and as for recent pleasant events, we’re with Roger Simon.
