Birds of a feather, and other matters

First the lighter idiocy:

One guy: “The earth, our home, is beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth. These situations have caused sister earth, along with all the abandoned of our world, to cry out, pleading that we take another course. Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last 200 years.” Another guy: “we have a profound responsibility to protect our children, and our children’s children, from the damaging impacts of climate change. I am committed to taking bold actions at home and abroad to cut carbon pollution, to increase clean energy and energy efficiency, to build resilience in vulnerable communities, and to encourage responsible stewardship of our natural resources. We must also protect the world’s poor”

Re that last comment about helping the poor around the world, how about cheap energy, a great and easy thing to do? Oh, never mind, there’s no talking to fools of this magnitude.

As for the profoundly disturbing idiocy, don’t make a soap opera, make a hanging, and a fast one at that. We don’t care if he’s nuts or on drugs, hang him and do it next month. Q: What kind of a country is it in which Sirhan Sirhan and Charles Manson are still alive after the horrible things they did in the 1960’s? A: one where deterrence does not exist.

It just gets CRAZIER and CRAZIER! Dick Marcinko said it best: “DOOM ON US!”

Steyn had a trenchant line the other day,

“More and more levers of civilization appear to be in the hands of the clinically insane.
