Then and now

A 1950 letter from a “thin-lipped hater” to the WaPo: “I’ve just read your lousy review. Some day I hope to meet you. When that happens you’ll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below.” Of course today we have video. In an unfortunate turn for WWE’s Vince McMahon, he’s had his head replaced, leading to an amusing exchange. Q: isn’t pro wrestling fake? A: Yes, just like your coverage. Of course in other quarters, the hysteria accelerated.

Bonuses. We intend to read this interesting book. Also, in case you hadn’t guessed this, insanity continues apace.

HST has long been one of my favorites. In fact, I consider myself to be an HST/JFK Democrat. Along those lines, I can only imagine what HST would have had to say about slick willy, gwb and comrade obama?
