Yawn…and then

Hysteria. “She blinded me with science!” “It doesn’t matter if a cat is black or white; as long as it catches mice, it’s a good cat.” Really good, as the graph shows. But by far the most burning question is: how can a three hour cruise discover an uncharted desert isle 250 miles from Hawaii?

I wondered about that back in the third grade when the show originally aired. And how did all those crazy visitors find the uncharted isle, leave without taking any of the castaways and then not tell the world about it?

Re Germany lines up with China

I don’t believe that’s anything to be too alarmed about. Those are big boy sized investments being kicked around. They should know the risks. I am not sure why it should matter to us one way or the other.

As for a world-wide tariff-free automobile market . . . well . . . what about the country that doesn’t subsidize their auto exports, but subsidizes the inputs instead, like maybe subsidized steel? I am looking at you China. There still won’t be a level playing field (I hate that cliche) in the automobile market.

I don’t know the solution to world trade distortions. I believe Trump is right that we are placed at a disadvantage more often than not, but all we can do regarding imports and exports is to calculate if we gain more than we lose by trading with foreign countries.
