More climate wisdom

An academic in Sweden has come up with a novel way to fight climate change – cannibalism. Magnus Söderlund of the Stockholm School of Economics suggested the macabre solution at a conference in the city earlier this week focused on foods of the future, GastroSummit. He delivered a talk titled ‘Can You Imagine Eating Human Flesh?’, the Epoch Times reports, in which he said people could be convinced to eat human flesh, but first they have to be persuaded to taste it. Dr Söderlund was asked afterwards by Sweden’s TV4 if he’d be willing to try human flesh himself. “I feel somewhat hesitant but to not appear overly conservative, I’d have to say I’d be open to at least tasting it.”

Hey, why is this guy in jail? He was just trying to save the planet.

The article is unclear whether the prof wants real humans consumed or synthetic lab grown human flesh?

However, why would one consume lab grown human flesh when other species could be grown just as easily?

Either way, I don’t see his point. Does he want to kill large numbers of humans for food consumption? If so, which ones, and how should we do it? If he just wants large numbers of humans dead wouldn’t it just be better to kill them and cover them up to prevent the release of their carbon?

Who gets to decide who is to be eaten?

This man either has serious mental problems or he is using an outrageous proposal to draw attention to himself.

In any event he is getting publicity for a ghastly, repugnant idea. Who knows? In the insane world in which we now reside it might gain traction.

Maybe he has been watching too many episodes of The Twilight Zone?
