The genius of the electoral college, and the limits of the Mainstream Media Megaphone

The Democrat Money-Media Megaphone

Link to, and copy the map below. It is the picture of the political landscape in the United States that is worth a thousand words.

The four largest centers of Democratic campaign contributions are New York (larger than all the rest combined), Los Angeles, and either Washington, DC or Boston.

75% of political contributions in NYC go to Democrats, 60% in Los Angeles, 75% in DC and Boston.

The big media centers are NY, LA, and DC (in terms of politics), not only the networks but the newspapers of record in the Mainstream Media.

The big media are 12 to 1 in the tank for Kerry and have promised to deliver 15 points to him versus Bush.

The big media have joint ventures with the polling companies that have consistently produced cheerleading polls favoring Democrats — polls that are dead wrong.

They have the money, they have the media, they have the polls, they have the megaphone.

The electoral college as a check and balance on the Mainstream Media megaphone

If the United States did not have the electoral college, the plan to elect John Kerry would stand a greater chance of success. As things stand, things do not look too good for the democratic candidate.

If Kerry loses, the question arises: who is out of touch? Those spread vastly across the pink-ish or lightly blue United States, who elect the Republicans, or those concentrated in the money-media centers, who have turned the volume up to 121 in this election cycle?
