Osama bin Laden endorses Michael Moore for President?

In clear and striking language aimed at the American left, Osama bin Laden, himself appearing presidential in bearing, today condemned President Bush, and appeared to endorse Michael Moore for President of the United States. Bin Laden’s condemnation of Bush followed very closely the plot line of Fahrenheit 911.

Osama’s Criticisms of Bush Echo Michael Moore on Iraq, Patriot Act, 9/11

Osama said that Bush has made America less secure by his war policies and support for Israel, and likened the administration to corrupt Arab governments, much as Moore did in linking Bush and the Saudi royal family through their interests in the Carlyle Group, among other things. As Moore did, bin Laden denounced the Patriot Act, and said that Bush has repeatedly lied to the American people, one of the major themes of Fahrenheit 911. In his most explicit reference to Moore’s film, bin Laden condemned Bush’s continuing to read My Pet Goat after being told of the World Trade Center attack. Following are excerpts of the bin Laden endorsement of Moore:

O American people, I am speaking to tell you about the ideal way to avoid another Manhattan, about war and its causes and results….When you squander our security we squander yours….Despite entering the fourth year after Sept. 11, Bush is still deceiving you and hiding the truth from you and therefore the reasons are still there to repeat what happened.

God knows it did not cross our minds to attack the towers but after the situation became unbearable and we witnessed the injustice and tyranny of the American-Israeli alliance against our people in Palestine and Lebanon, I thought about it. And the events that affected me directly were that of 1982 and the events that followed — when America allowed the Israelis to invade Lebanon…. As I watched the destroyed towers in Lebanon, it occurred to me punish the unjust the same way (and) to destroy towers in America so it could taste some of what we are tasting and to stop killing our children and women.

We had no difficulty in dealing with Bush and his administration because they resemble the regimes in our countries, half of which are ruled by the military and the other half by the sons of kings … They have a lot of pride, arrogance, greed and thievery.

He (Bush) adopted despotism and….called it the Patriot Act under the guise of combating terrorism….

It never occurred to us that the commander in chief of the American forces (Bush) would leave 50,000 citizens in the two towers to face those horrors alone at a time when they most needed him because he thought listening to a child discussing her goat and its ramming was more important than the planes and their ramming of the skyscrapers. This had given us three times the time needed to carry out the operations, thanks be to God…

Florida 2000 recalled by bin Laden, Moore

In his commentary Sheikh bin Laden referred to George bush’s stealing the election in 2000 because of the intellegence and perfidy of his father:

[Bush 41] was bright in putting his sons as governors in states and he didn’t forget to transfer his experience from the rulers of our region to Florida to falsify elections to benefit from it in critical times.

Moore agreed on the effectiveness of that tactic, and like bin Laden, is taking steps to ensure it does not recur in 2004:

“I am coming to Florida,” the director of “Fahrenheit 9/11″ promised Florida’s delegation to the Democratic National Convention in Boston. “Together we will guarantee to every Floridian that their vote will be counted this year….I will have my cameras. We will put a huge spotlight on them. They will not get away with it this time.”

A Plea for Understanding on the Root Causes of September 11

In a gesture that demonstrated Osama’s ability to reach out to the other side, the Sheikh told the world that the attacks of September 11 were a tragic outgrowth of his outrage at grevious injustices abetted by the United States.

God knows it did not cross our minds to attack the towers but after the situation became unbearable and we witnessed the injustice and tyranny of the American-Israeli alliance against our people in Palestine and Lebanon, I thought about it. And the events that affected me directly were that of 1982 and the events that followed — when America allowed the Israelis to invade Lebanon, helped by the U.S. Sixth Fleet.

In those difficult moments many emotions came over me which are hard to describe, but which produced an overwhelming feeling to reject injustice and a strong determination to punish the unjust. As I watched the destroyed towers in Lebanon, it occurred to me punish the unjust the same way (and) to destroy towers in America so it could taste some of what we are tasting and to stop killing our children and women.

Moore agreed that there was good reason for the outrage, but that it had been misplaced:

“If someone did this [9/11] to get back at Bush, then they did so by killing thousands of people who DID NOT VOTE for him! Boston, New York, D.C., and the planes’ destination of California — these were places that voted AGAINST Bush!”

Hence this unfortunate misundertanding:

Moore’s response to the bin Laden Endorsement

Moore, one of America’s most revered artists and public figures, could not be reached immediately for comment. However, he has said he is not running, and has endorsed another candidate:

Filmmaker Michael Moore told an enthusiastic audience here on Wednesday that “we are doomed” if President George W. Bush is re-elected. “I fear, really, that we are doomed on some level here. We are so close to not being able to pull it back, to turn it around — to get control of our country back in our hands,” Moore told a packed auditorium just hours before the third and final presidential debate. Moore’s “Slacker Uprising Tour” was held at the Celebrity Theatre.

“We have allowed the wealthy to take control now of all our democratic process. It may be too late — I don’t know, I hope it isn’t,” the left-wing filmmaker said. Moore said he was clinging to a “sliver of optimism” regarding America’s future, but only if John Kerry is elected on November 2.

Here are some pictures from some recent public appearances of Michael Moore, American hero, and associates of his choice for president, John Kerry. We understand that Osama respects the decision of Michael Moore to decline the presidential nomination in favor of Senator Kerry.

Here’s what we like

We have listened to the arguments put forth by Sheikh bin Laden, his chosen nominee, Michael Moore, and runner-up John Kerry, and we are not impressed. This site prefers its terrorists very dead and not at all understood (via IMAO):
