Good news for the blogosphere: the US is a broadband country

Ipsos, in a worldwide survey:

The Internet population that accessed the Internet via a broadband connection grew by an astounding 24%….The year 2004 also marked the year when the U.S. migrated over to a predominantly broadband country, where close to six out of ten users accessed the Internet through some high-speed connection.

This probably means that by 2008, 75% or so of Americans will be broadband users. We have previously discussed the impact of continued high internet adoption on the growth of the blogosphere, and note today this tidbit from Jackson’s Junction, a site which is closing the memory hole in video the way the blogosphere to date has closed it on print. You just can’t write something, or say it on TV, and hope it is not part of the political record.

As we all are so tired of pointing out, what CNN refers to as a “cut,” is not a cut at all. Sorry, fellas, can’t get away with this in the new world.
