New Orleans: the hits just keep on comin’
You will be pleased to see that trains were offered to New Orleans to help people evacuate, but the city declined them. Further, in the course of her meltdown, soon to be former Senator Landrieu says that the evacuation of New Orleans did not proceed because the mayor of a 67% African American community has “a hard time getting….people to work on a sunny day.” Since she repeated the comment three times, it was obviously meant as a talking point. Perhaps it is, for her future opponent or Ray Nagin’s. (HT: Political Teen, Brendan Loy, Powerline)

Dear Lord, she has lost her mind.
Fox News Sunday @ 22 mins into replay
Wallace shows picture and asks about the unused school buses
Mary Landrieu replies:
………..”Mayors have trouble getting people to work on a sunny day, let alone a rainy day”
She said the “on a sunny day” 3 times.
So they only work in New Orleans if it is cloudy or snowing/unless it is sunny
and snowing or starts raining when it cloudy — then you can go home.
Submit resumes now to Mayor Nagin, City of New Orleans.

Chris came back from this with the Landrieu interview:
Dumb questions @ 4mins into Fox News Sunday
Chris foreshadowed question with Trent Lott statement re Brown of FEMA:
“Brown acted more like a private than a general.”
Chris Wallace asks Admiral Allen:
“Are you going to be acting more like a General?”
Real shame the Admiral did not respond:
” I going to act like an Admiral, Chris, like an Admiral.”
It’s tough when you grow up on NYC upper east side – never quite get
that military rank thing down.
Replay at 13 mins – Hope Britt Hume is on panel and heard that!

Update: Britt layed Juan out. Juan usually just a spinner outright lied:
“Governor Blanco said she couldn’t get President Bush on the phone”
