Ronnie Earle, Ben Barnes, and Tom DeLay as the Ham Sandwich

Texas has no shortage of crooked Democrats, and it looks to us as if Ronnie Earle is going to be starring in the blogosphere, if not the MSM, as the next Ben Barnes. Barnes is a nasty piece of work, famous for a moment as part of the Rathergate hit piece, and dissected at bit here by us. Appropriately enough, Powerline and Michelle Malkin have begun the thought and documentation process which we hope will prove extremely unpleasant for Mr. Earle. As for the MSM, when we saw this photo:

in both the NYT and WaPo, we pretty much understood their angle on today’s Republican ham sandwich. For those interested in the substance of the indictment issue, we recommend this editorial in NRO, which says this: “[t]he charges are absurd and should be thrown out of court.” For ourselves, we wish a hearty blogosphere welcome to Ronnie Earle — the new Ben Barnes, or perhaps better, Bill Burkett with a law degree. Good luck, Ronnie, you’re gonna need it.

  1. DL Says:

What I don’t understand is how this guy supposedly has blackmailed some companies into giving to his political charities, or else face arrest, and hasn’t paid the price for it. Surely their are laws (a federal indictment would override his local immunity) such as the “commerce” clause (those companies are interstate). Didn’t he communicate and conspire with those charities to take the illegally begotten funds. Shouldn’t they be investigated immediately (who owns congress?) A real clear signal needs to be given to America and the Dems that the route they’re have chosen to go is at their own destruction. Just once, some tit-for-tat, is required!

I have to agree with DL: this all smacks of abuse of power. This Earle joker turns the prosecution on and off to suit his whim. If Travis County weren’t reliably Looney Left, this idiot would be behind bars instead of threatening those who aren’t Democrats.
