Guess whom we are talking about
We refer to an academic study by gentlemen from Yale and the University of Chicago:
We offer evidence that legalized abortion has contributed significantly to recent crime reductions. Crime began to fall roughly 18 years after abortion legalization. The 5 states that allowed abortion in 1970 experienced declines earlier than the rest of the nation, which legalized in 1973 with Roe v. Wade. States with high abortion rates in the 1970s and 1980s experienced greater crime reductions in the 1990s. In high abortion states, only arrests of those born after abortion legalization fall relative to low abortion states. Legalized abortion appears to account for as much as 50 percent of the recent drop in crime.
If we can honest discussions of abortion and race, maybe it can truly become Morning in America. (HT: James Taranto)
UPDATE
In an excellent double-catch, Newsbusters reports not only the CBS trumpeting and distortion of the Bill Bennett story, but also its failure to mention, even one time, Dick Durbin’s offensive, false remarks. We’re just so very, very tired of the MSM.

I work for a newspaper (the shameless commerce section: the graphics department for advertising). I get the paper FREE, yet wouldn’t waste my time reading it. The news is more accurate after it’s been deconstructed and studied by the internet. Don’t believe me, Gore? Then why did Dan Rather retire a year early and Mary Mapes get fired? If I’d have stopped with TV and newspaper, I’d be as deluded as those two are!
