Such wimpishness is in line with what the French are doing and merely justifies in the minds of the rioters that they were right. To top it off, Bush had pulled an end run around the double jeopardy clause in the Constitution to thwart a legitimate (perhaps erronious) judgement by a jury. In addition, Rodney king who was a chronic law-breaker was let off scott free, sending another message to the rioters that special privelige is the result of white guilt. How many times after that did the race-baiting pimps like Jackson, and Sharpton blackmail with the treat of a long,hot summer, if the white man didn't capitulate. Such wimpishness will not work either, in France!
