The EU is in an uproar over Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s denial of the Holocaust as a “myth,” according to the AP, and tempers are overflowing. German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, set the tone for a war of words that we fear might escalate further:

“I say again: the government in Tehran must understand that the patience of the international community is not endless,” Steinmeier said.

With such statements, can violence be far behind? We urge the EU to tone down their inlammatory rhetoric.
