On the other hand, the war without, and against, humor

Brussels Journal, on the consequences of showing cartoons similar to this and other depictions of Mohammed (a controversy originating in Denmark):
[The Norwegian publication] Magazinet has received threats via e-mail from around the world. One of these, sent anonymously through a popular e-mail service in the Middle East, was mailed to the editor, Vebjørn Selbekk, simply stating: “You’re a dead man!” Other staff members have also received threats. Selbekk said it looked as if the newspaper’s e-mail addresses were being distributed in an organized campaign. One of the e-mails Selbekk received contains a couple of pictures showing a burnt body, sent through an e-mail address in France.
Brussels Journal also notes: “The Palestinian terrorist organization Islamic Jihad announced yesterday that all Nordic people had 48 hours to leave Gaza.” Norwegians were excluded from this expulsion by terrorists since Norway is cozy with Hamas and leading Norwegian politicians famously boycott Israel. However, who knows if the cosmopolites of Hamas and Islamic Jihad can tell a Norwegian from a Swede or a Dane?
We note that Muslim organizations are trying to get a UN resolution to ban these outrageous cartoons, which we will enthusiastically support the day a Catholic Church and a synagogue open in Mecca.
UPDATE
Some charming Muslim fellows in the UK have an editorial in their newspaper: Kill those who insult the Prophet Muhammad. Will the cowering West ever draw a line in the sand? It is instructive that no one to our knowledge is calling for Tom Toles to suffer any harm.

UPDATE III
In which we are reminded that the US did not recall its ambassador to Saudi Arabia after Saudi nationals crashed planes into US buildings, but the cartoon controversy started when an outraged Saudi Arabia recalled its ambassador to Denmark many months after someone doodled on a sheet of paper. We are just so sick of these people.
