Howl 2006

Like many of you, we were livid at moral vacuity posing as moral superiority in the case of the hostages that were rescued by the finest among us; the puffed-up popinjay group sponsoring the aging hippies made us furious and reminded us of Allen Ginsburg’s drug-addled outrage:

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked,

dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,

angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night,

who poverty and tatters and hollow-eyed and high sat up smoking in the supernatural darkness of cold-water flats floating across the tops of cities contemplating jazz,

who bared their brains to Heaven under the El and saw Mohammedan angels staggering on tenement roofs illuminated

who passed through universities with radiant cool eyes hallucinating Arkansas and Blake-light tragedy among the scholars of war

Our rage is boundless as we read the lies of our supposed moral superiors. The statement by Christian Peacemaker Teams unmasks the leadership of the organization as anti-American, anti-Western, and morally perverted. Their press releae says: “our faith compels us to love our enemies,” yet they do not thank their “enemies” in the US and British military who resecued them. They are supposed to be Christians, but they lie when they say the hostages were “released.” We can only conclude, from their own words, that the motivations of the leadership are political more than they are religious.

Our hearts are filled with joy today as we heard that Harmeet Singh Sooden, Jim Loney and Norman Kember have been safely released in Baghdad.

We believe that the illegal occupation of Iraq by Multinational Forces is the root cause of the insecurity which led to this kidnapping and so much pain and suffering in Iraq. The occupation must end…..We pray that Christians throughout the world will, in the same spirit, call for justice and for respect for the human rights of the thousands of Iraqis who are being detained illegally by the U.S. and British forces occupying Iraq. During these past months, we have tasted of the pain that has been the daily bread of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. Why have our loved ones been taken? Where are they being held? Under what conditions? How are they? Will they be released? When?

We contrast the blowhardism of the so-called Christians with the modesty of the real story of the hostages rescue from some of the baddest of the bad, via NYT:

The hostages were found when American-led forces raided a house in western Baghdad, acting on information from one of two detainees interrogated late Wednesday night, Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, a spokesman for the American military, said at a news conference in Baghdad.

The madman bum and Angel still beat in Time.

A little knowledge of gay history would go a long way here. The book Howl was written during a time when gay men and women were pulled out of bars, searched and if they didn’t have 3 articles of clothing on them that were women’s or men’s accordingly they were arrested. It’s a given that they were beaten and raped – some times by more than one officer. Some died from this. Some lived. Those that lived frequently ended up using drugs or drinking too much to hide from the pain they had to live through. Those that lived were frequently institutionalized and given lobotomies, kept in padded cells, given electroshock therapy and convinced not to be who they were.

At the point in time when he wrote HOWL a dear friend of his was treated just so. He stood outside the sanitarium screaming, angry and hurt and knowing what was being done to his friend with in those walls. He was powerless to act, powerless to save him. This was part of why he wrote Howl. Watching this happen to a friend or a spouse was devastating. If you fought it or protested you would find yourself arrested, raped and going through a lobotomy. Until a few years after the Stonewall riots in New York it kept happening across the country.

Knowing that, the use of that poem by AG seems out of context at very the least.

    For Karl Rove

I SAW the second-best minds of my not-so-Great Generation destroyed by Bush Derangement Syndrome, pasty, paunchy, tenured, unelectable, and not looking too sharp naked,

bullshitting themselves through the African-American streets at cocktail hour looking for a Prozac refill,

aging hair-plugged hipsters burning for their ancient political connection to the White House through the machinations of moonbats,

who warred on poverty and Halliburton’s Wal-Mart and bulbous-eyed and still high from some bad acid in 1968 set up no-smoking zones on tobacco farms in the unnatural darkness of Darwinistic delusions floating a few more half-baked secular notions like “Let’s all worship zero!”,

who bared their withered breasts and, he or she, bleated their vaginas’ mawkish monologues to John Kennedy’s ghost under the capitol dome and french-kissed Mohammedan agents in the gore-drenched redrum rooms of Guantanamo,

who passed gas and on into universities with radiant cool eyes hallucinating President Al Gore and Vice-President Noam Chomsky envisioning world peace among the masters of war and stayed on and stayed on and stayed on sucking off the great teat of academe in upaid student loans and over-paid professorial positions the better to molest the minds of children for decades with every third year off for bad behavior,

    YOU MUST READ IT ALL
I WANT A CD AND A “GROWL” PARTY!

I think ABC producer’s feelings and words about Bush could be adapted to fit this situation…..so let me give it a try.

Are you watching this? It makes me sick. If I have to listen to another “we love everyone in the world except Americans” I am going to puke. I only hope said puke ends up in the lap of the MSM that promoted these crappers.
