Is Ahmadinejad blaming the Jews or a secret Bush cabal for 9-11?
We thought this passage on page 8 of the Ahmadinejad letter was odd:
September Eleven was a horrendous incident. The killing of innocents is deplorable and appalling in any part of the world. Our government immediately declared its disgust with the perpetrators and offered its condolences to the bereaved and expressed its sympathies.
All governments have a duty to protect the lives, property and good standing of their citizens. Reportedly your government employs extensive security, protection and intelligence systems -– and even hunts its opponents abroad. September eleven was not a simple operation. Could it be planned and executed without coordination with intelligence and security services –- or their extensive infiltration? Of course this is just an educated guess. Why have the various aspects of the attacks been kept secret? Why are we not told who botched their responsibilities? And, why aren’t those responsible and the guilty parties identified and put on trial?
We have said that the letter included a dawa, but it has quite a lot of other stuff for consumption by the Left, the MSM and fans of Jihad. Our first read of the above text was that Ahmadinejad was playing to the F911 crowd, but we note on Powerline that some readers have interpreted it as a threat to the US by Iran. We don’t know about that.
However, it does not seem accidental that Ahmadinejad devoted three pages to the illicit and evil “phenomenon of Israel” and followed that section with his discussion of Iran’s nuclear plans. So Ahmadinejad knows how to make a threat — even an implicit one — clear enough. Maybe he should rework his 9-11 section for greater precision. Actually, the only precision we’re really interested in is the precision of the munitions we use against this menace to society.
