Time for a Magic Lawsuit to go with the Magic Hat
It seems pretty obvious to us that the MSM, in their laziness and partisanship, are going to play stenographer to whatever nonsense John Kerry puts out this time. For details of their shameful behavior, see Thomas Lipscomb, Bruce Kesler and Tom McGuire for starters. From the awful performance of Michael Kranish in 2004 to the dopey obsequiousness of Kate Zernike today, the MSM have been particularly disgraceful in their coverage of this issue. It is the opposite of MSM professionalism to continue to allow Kerry to obfuscate and get away with bald-faced lies like this:
On more than one occasion, I, like Martin Sheen in “Apocalypse Now,” took my patrol boat into Cambodia
In fact, I remember spending Christmas Day of 1968 five miles across the Cambodian border being shot at by our South Vietnamese Allies who were drunk and celebrating Christmas. The absurdity of almost being killed by our own allies in a country in which President Nixon claimed there were no American troops was very real. But nowhere in “Apocalypse Now” did I sense that kind of absurdity.
Sad to say, it appears to us that the only real solution to the problem of John Kerry’s strange tales is litigation, in which the process of discovery would unearth all of Kerry’s records. We hope there’s a cause of action on the horizon that would enable a real battle of SwiftBoatVets v. Kerry to take place in which all the facts could be put on the table. The list of Kerry whoppers is a long one.
We are of course interested in learning about the true origins of the Magic Hat, but that is not the most interesting thing to us. We wonder whether or not VC the Wonder Dog, said by Kerry to have served along with him on his Swift Boat, was also a figment of the Senator’s fevered imagination. Kerry said that the poor creature had been blown sky high by a mine and landed on another vessel: “It turns out VC was catapulted from the deck of our boat and landed, confused but unhurt, on the deck of another boat in our patrol.” Yeah, right, Senator. Who said that litigation can’t be fun?

Swifties Reloaded
It is time we all got to see a picture of the famous Kerry “lucky hat,” rather than another account by the latest star-struck journalist. It is time for Kerry to stop alluding to “records” and start producing them. And it is time media assigned rep…
