Of course killing Zarqawi was murder, if…

The Vice Chairwoman of the Democratic Party has called the killing of Zarqawi “murder,” and this is correct. Killing Zarqawi was murder in the sense that the police bombing your house to arrest you would be murder. Or perhaps in the even broader sense that all the killing in a rogue, illegal war might be murder. So if those are the things you believe — that the US is not in a war, or that the war is illegal — then Zarqawi was murdered by Americans. And what goes for Zarqawi goes tenfold for the women and children murdered with him. Clearly, given the legal and moral context from which this Democratic Party official, Susan Turnbull, operates, the Americans involved should be brought up on charges.

We appreciate Ms. Turnbull’s honesty in this matter, though she has since recanted, but only a bit. These matters are well worth debating, if only (from our point of view) to illuminate the mindset of our domestic opposition for all to see. By the way, what do you think she believes in her heart about the Marines in Haditha, no matter what platitudes she mouths? (HT: Ace)
