NYT fauxtography: Night of the Living Dead — with hat
Gateway Pundit points to this from a photo essay on Israel’s brutal destruction of Lebanon by the NYT’s Tyler Hicks. Note the man in the baseball cap:
Here is apparently the same fellow, a few shots in the NYT’s presentation later, playing a dead guy, the victim of Israel’s brutal destruction of Lebanon:

Note that he now has the baseball cap tucked under his arm, and not a scratch or a speck of dust on him from Israel’s brutal destruction of Lebanon. Perhaps next time the NYT could try a little more subtlety and a little less fraud in its propaganda. (HT: Larwyn)
UPDATE
More fauxtography here.
UPDATE II
A compendium of the crude Reuters and NYT propaganda photos is available via Zombietime.
UPDATE III
In the dopiest excuse since Jayson Blair, Janet Cooke and Stephen Glass, the NYT made up an apparent lie to cover its previous apparent lie: “The man pictured, who had been seen in previous images appearing to assist with the rescue effort, was injured during that rescue effort, not during the initial attack, and was not killed.” Yeah, he was injured, but had the presence of mind to take off his baseball cap and tuck it under his arm. Gotta preserve that baseball cap! Gotta pose like Jesus in the Pieta! Gotta get injured in some incredibly non-obvious way, and crawl under some debris for a fauxtograph. The NYT’s excuse is even more pathetic than its original action!
