Centanni and Wiig marked for death? — just ask Abdul Rahman
Fox Correspondent Steve Centanni, 60, of Washington, D.C., and cameraman Olaf Wiig, 36, of New Zealand, are now arguably marked for death, having been freed by their Islamic captors. Here’s the reason:
The two men were shown separately, sitting cross-legged, reading statements announcing that they had converted to Islam. Centanni said: “I changed my name to Khaled. I have embraced Islam and say the word Allah.” Wiig called on leaders of the West to stop “hiding behind the ‘I don’t negotiate with terrorists’ myth”. A separate statement from the captors said: “They chose Islam and that is a gift that God gives those whom he chooses.”
You’ve heard of the Roach Motel — the bugs get in but they don’t get out. Some religions are like that. Some religions will kill you if you try to leave. We remind you of the case of Abdul Rahman of Afghanistan. As one cleric said when he chose to abandon Islam: “Abdul Rahman must be killed. Islam demands it.”
If Centanni and Wiig now abandon their “conversions” to Islam, they will arguably be marked for death — and all in accordance with the customs of Islamic countries. Neat trick by the Islamic fundamentalists, to keep them under threat like that forever.
UPDATE
Jill Carroll got the treatment too when she was a hostage: “He kept saying there was no pressure, no pressure in Islam, that they were forbidden from forcing people to convert. True acceptance must come from a free will. They’d kidnapped me, and they all had guns ready to kill me, but, oh no, no pressure there.”
