We said it looked like lawsuit shopping

We said that the recent airline incident looked like lawsuit shopping to us, and we were right. So the “middle eastern men” we wrote about below were imams, some of which have ties to Islamic terrorism — and all of whom no doubt have ties to disgusting American lawyers who will be filing suit on their behalf. Here’s what the lowlifes were doing, starting with agitator-in-chief Omar Shahin‘s comments:

“They have no reason to refuse service to us just because of the way we look,” he said “It’s terrible. We want America to stay the way it is because we love this country.” The supervisor asked Shahin to leave the ticket counter.

“This is prejudice,” he replied. “This is obvious discrimination. No one can argue with this.” “I am calling for a boycott of US Airways because I’m not going to stay silent,” said Shahin, who is Jordanian. “I came to this country to enjoy justice and freedom.”

At the same time, word is starting to leak out as to what it was that alarmed the passengers: Pat Hogan, spokesman for the Metropolitan Airports Commission, said that witnesses to Monday’s events told police that before the flight that besides praying, the imams were spouting anti-American rhetoric, talking about the war in Iraq and Saddam Hussein. One of the imams was heard saying that he would do whatever is necessary to fulfill his commitment to the Qur’an, witnesses told police, Hogan said. Other witnesses said some of the imams were repeating “Allah, Allah,” he said.

And a couple of the imams asked for seat-belt extensions, even though it did not appear they needed them, Hogan said. All of this made passengers, the attendants and the pilot uncomfortable, Hogan said.

People like this are reducing the image of Islam in the United States to poison through their aggressive, irresponsible and offensive conduct. They are putting every American Muslim at risk of guilt by association, particularly since there is zero media coverage of any Muslim outrage or protest (is there any?) at the verminous co-religionists in their midst. Those involved in this incident who can be deported, should be deported immediately. Those who America has the bad fortune to host permanently should be shunned and condemned. (More at Powerline)

UPDATE

By the way, a successful boycott of US Airways by the likes of Omar Shahin and his friends could make US Air a very popular and safe airline indeed. We note that the sentiment is widespread that offending CAIR would be a boon to air travellers everywhere.

UPDATE II

This speaks for itself as part of the evidence:

22muslim_lg.jpg

In a statement to police, a US Airways gate agent wrote that three of the men prayed in Arabic at the gate. “I was suspicious by the way they were praying very loud,” the gate agent said.

And Lileks confirms this tactic of “praying” as intimidation:

the men said they were in town for “a religious conference.” Interesting. I was talking today with a guy I know; he’d been at a suburban hotel for an annual company sales meeting. The regional manager was having a difficult time speaking, since the party in the next conference room was praying about as loudly as is humanly possible, and had followed the prayers with a speaker who expressed in rather . . . forceful terms the depth of Muslim oppression in America. Unless there are several Muslim religious conferences going on in Minneapolis at the moment, I’d guess that might be the one.

Fine upstanding religious professionals or disgusting fat men in dirty beards? You be the judge.

UPDATE III

By the way, real religious men don’t make a point of shouting, whining, complaining and intimidating people on airplanes. What kind of religion would tolerate such men as clerics, when they commit such patently offensive and rude spectacles in public places?

The coverage by national media on tonight’s broadcast news [ABC & NBC] that I watched did not mention the connection of the Imam Shahin to a Hamas “charity.”

    What a surprise!?!

Also, their refusal to accept the seats they were assigned makes it appear that they were acting as agents provacateurs, attempting to create a “cause celebre” to arouse radicalism in quiescent Muslims in the USA.

That wouldn’t surprise me at all.

I don’t recall any of these people hijacking planes.

I don’t recall these Imams hijacking any planes as well. These clerics were not shouting, whining and complaining. They respected the police and left quietly. In fact, they alerted the FBI ahead of time because they anticipated this kind of discrimination. The police would not allow any of the clerics show tell them about it without threatening arrest. I’m glad they all flew together. Even if it were staged, it took Rosa Park’s staging for America to wake up about African American civil rights, we need to learn how to get over our projected fear of Muslims. Just because 20 Jihadists hijacked those planes 5 years ago doesn’t give you the right to blanket this country with hate. Hitler was a Christian (or at least many of the Nazis were, if you are one to believe Hitler was an Anarchist)…should we hate all Christians? Read your bible, it is filled with war, hate and exclusivity along with preaching morals and peace…but you still practice your religion don’t you? How can we expect Muslims to respect/trust us if we as a country don’t respect them?

  5. academic Says:

Oh also…(sorry for the typos in the first statement)…they were not switching around seats “to plot”. The Imam in First Class (bumped up from coach because of his Elite status with the airline) went back to his fellow Imam, who happened to be blind, and offered him his first class seat for comfort. Doesn’t that sound like a “good Christian” thing to do?

    One more:

“Fine upstanding religious professionals or disgusting fat men in dirty beards? You be the judge.”

The unshaven beard goes back to the Old Testament. Read Numbers Ch. 6. Its called the Law of the Nazarite. Jesus would have looked like that as well.

  7. Wes Freeman Says:

These imam’s should be deported and not allowed back in the States. They are not required to pray to their false prophet when travelling. Of course the academic’s in this Country will support these dirt bags since the majority of them are communist
