Department of disturbing headlines
When we read something like this from the LA Times, we can’t help worrying:
Tuesday’s market sell-off was long anticipated and is not a sign of coming troubles...
There’s such a hail-fellow-well-met feel about the phrasing that it sounds 1929-ish to us. Still, anything is better than the NYT, which found a way to say, incredibly, that the US had already “managed to slip into a recession with almost nobody seeming to notice.”
