Pravda’s take on the handling of dissidents in the US and Russia

This really is Pravda, not the Onion:

In a clear sign of its intent to reign in dissident American media personalities, and their growing influence in American culture, US War Leaders this past week launched an unprecedented attack upon one of their most politically ‘connected’, and legendary, radio hosts named Don Imus after his threats to release information relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks upon that country.

According to European reports of the events surrounding Don Imus that have gripped the United States this past week, it was during an interview with another American media personality, Tim Russert, who is the host of a television programme frequently used by US War Leaders, wherein while decrying the state of care being given to American War wounded stated, “So those bastards want to keep these boys [in reference to US Soldiers] secret? Let’s see how they like it if I start talking about their [in reference to US War Leaders] secrets, starting with 9/11.”

Unable to attack such a powerful media figure as Don Imus, directly, the US War Leaders, and as we have seen many times before, resorted to a massive media attack against him using as the reason a racial slur against a US woman’s basketball team, but which has been pointed out by other media outlets was not by any means a rare occurrence for the legendary radio icon to make.

But, to the US War Leaders, Don Imus represented the most serious threat, to date of the growing assault against them by America’s media personalities threatening to expose the truths behind the events of September 11, 2001…

(Note: It is said that online Pravda and the newspaper Pravda are unrelated, though the online version was founded by former editors at the newspaper. The online version carries this disclaimer: “In spite of the fact that the journalists of both these publications are still in touch with each other, we have different conceptions about news about Russia and the world. The newspaper Pravda analyzes events from the point of view of the Party’s interests, whereas PRAVDA On-line takes a pro-Russian approach to forming its policy.”)

We observe that Putinesque Russia seems to have a more muscular approach than the US to its handling of dissident personalities, perhaps rather reminiscent of the gentleman pictured above. AP: Thousands of police officers massed to keep the demonstrators off Pushkin Square, beating some protesters and detaining many others, including Garry Kasparov…”It is no longer a country…where the government tries to pretend it is playing by the letter and spirit of the law,” Kasparov said outside the court building…”We now stand somewhere between Belarus and Zimbabwe”. By way of contrast, let’s look at how Pravda reported the same Garry Kasparov story:

Garry Kasparov, arrested today near Pushkinskaya Square in Moscow for subversive activities, is the epitome of the big fish in the small pond which through its unfettered ambition, became a tiddler in the shark-infested waters of the Ocean. Garry Kasparov, the Grand Master of chess, is the political pawn who has sold his soul to the traitors who plot Russia’s demise…

Putin, a success…Whether Kasparov likes it or not, President Vladimir Putin has, at the very least, for the vast majority of the Russian people (although he would not know this because he is neither Russian, nor does he live in Russia), provided them with stability and economic security.

Hmmm. Putin is great, the US “War Leaders” engage in bizarre, conspirazoid behavior, and Garry Kasparov “sold his soul to the traitors.” There is a disturbing consistency to all of this. It does indeed remind us of reading the old Pravda of the USSR.

What do you think their purpose of this flat out garbage is? Propaganda. Yes it’s still alive and well. We have it in the U.S. as well, these reporters don’t care if it’s truth. They purposely convey their political agendas in the press. I have pity for the people captivated by such garbage but never-the-less, you would have to be an absolute retarded person not to pick up on this horse dung.
