If the earth is cooling should we be required by government to drive bigger vehicles, drill for our own oil, mandate more coal power plants, even give sour kraut to cows so they will fart more to heat up the planet. We need more capitalism to save the planet, not less. During the many ice age periods, how did the planet warm back up without man polluting and destroying the environment? His greed and pursuit of profits by exploiting the poor and the environment weren't around during these prior periods.Maybe this"global warming" is just a political movement and not really science. Should we all be like North Korea, after all they have centralized government that controls the people and their carbon footprint is very small. Is this what we want? Freedom and liberty, along with reasonable controls, is what made the U.S. the most prosperous country in the history of man. Do not kill the goose that lays the golden egg. In other words capitalism lifts people out of poverty, and pays the taxes that pays the pin heads working in the government and "green" think tanks. Create a job for your fellow citizens and quit scaring the children in our "big schools". Communism and socialism killed over one hundred million people last century! Do we want to keep sliding towards that type of control over our lives that communism offers. The engine of freedom at this point in history is fossil based fuel, at some point that will change but don't artificially put the owness on the working class people with a religion bases on junk science. There has been an assault on capitalism for quite some time, this one is the best yet. It pulls at the heartstrings,cuddlie polar bears drowning, cities drowning, species dying, hurricanes, crop failure, drought, starvation, even bridges falling, and the list goes on. Oh, I'm sure they'll work something out. We ARE talking about some pretty big rice bowls here. They'll just say that it is all for the good--scientific debate and all that. Of course, the Global Warming folk will have to give up their "the debate is over" meme, but I'm sure they'll work it all out, what with the billions in funding at stake.
