An AP Story:

Flaming SUV rams U.K. airport; 2 arrests

Two men rammed a flaming Jeep Cherokee into the main terminal of Glasgow airport Saturday, crashing into the glass doors at the entrance…Britain’s prime minister, Gordon Brown, a Scot who took office only Wednesday, was holding a meeting of the government crisis committee later Saturday and was being kept updated by officials, Downing Street said. A British government security official said the incident was being treated as “possibly terrorist related at this stage.”

The headline about the “Flaming SUV” crying havoc and slipping the dogs of war is priceless. As for the official’s characterization of the attack as “possibly terrorist related,” well, we wouldn’t want to jump to any conclusions, would we?

UPDATE

These Sky News interviews of eyewitnesses to the terrorist attack might prove a bit more informative than the AP story. Or this from the NYT: A witness to the attack said on BBC television that one of the car’s occupants had been ablaze from head to foot, and as he struggled with the police, “was throwing punches and shouting ‘Allah, Allah.’ ”
