Part of the Establishment?
NYT:
at Friday Prayer in Karbala, Sheik Abdul Hadi al-Muhammadawi, head of the Sadr office in the city, condemned the American-led raid, as did a Sadrist preacher in nearby Kufa, who demanded the release of all Sadrist “prisoners and detainees arrested by the American forces.” However, Sheik Abdul cautioned his audience not to fight Iraqi soldiers and policemen. “They are our brothers,” he told the congregation. “First and last, the Americans are our enemy.”
Such a fine and gracious fellow now that the former regime isn’t gouging his eyes out and burying him in a mass grave. But perhaps we should cut him some slack. The Holy City of Karbala can be kind of nasty at times.
