Just the other day a planted questioner, working for the Clinton campaign and masking as a Republican, asked a question meant to generate controversy. CNN’s well-planned and detailed complicity in allowing this has raised “the suspicion, utterly believable, that her campaign connived with CNN to plant questions meant to sabotage Wednesday night’s Republican debate.” And today the NYT has a story on the same subject, showing that the timing of the CNN question was anything other than coincidental. The lust for power that lies behind this effort to script our perceptions is truly impressive, and frightening.
