Is that a Republican talking?

No, it’s Barack Obama on ABC, talking about a certain someone’s unsightly and consistent habit of saying things that, gosh darn it, just aren’t true:

“You know the former president, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for, has taken his advocacy on behalf of his wife to a level that I think is pretty troubling…He continues to make statements that are not supported by the facts — whether it’s about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq or our approach to organizing in Las Vegas…This has become a habit, and one of the things that we’re going to have to do is to directly confront Bill Clinton when he’s making statements that are not factually accurate”…

We’ll have to see how this develops, but at first blush it would seem like an opportunity for Obama if he can position himself as actually running against Bill Clinton, not his wife. It raises Obama’s stature while lowering that of both Senator and President Clinton.

Can the former President zip his lip, or is he compelled to go around making things up? Senator Obama would be wise to invest in an attendee at all Bill Clinton’s events — and a tape recorder. We’ll see if this does him any more good than it did the GOP.

I sure hope this lets Hill and Bill know that Obama is a force to be reckoned with. He has much more fight in him than anticipated. The Clintons are likely in for a rude awakening.

If he is going to confront Bill (the disbarred lawyer) Clinton every time Bill lies, Obama will be the busiest person in America.

In my lifetime I’ve had the privilege of watching Magic Johnson and Larry Bird and Michael Jordan play basketball, Wayne Gretzky play hockey, Muhammed Ali box, Tom Seaver pitch, Tiger Woods golf.

And I’ve heard the Clintons lie.

Greatness comes in many forms .

Imagine that. For two years the Democrats have been running against a caricature of President Bush in the 2008 election. What irony if it turns out they actually should have been running against President Clinton!
