The McCain / Wright nexus

It seems to us only a matter of time (can it actually wait until the fall debates?) before some enterprising reporter attempts in a question to draw a parallel between the unpleasant remarks of Reverend Wright and certain past statements of Senator McCain. (Perhaps that parallelism was in the mind of one of Senator Obama’s speechwriters the other day but they decided to use grandma as the example instead.)

Senator McCain no doubt will be prepared with an answer, and perhaps his insistence on taking the high road when asked to comment on his opponents is part of an overall strategy of response to such questions. But the interesting element to us is how Senator Obama will respond to the question, and the media’s reaction to that response. Specifically, given the fulsome praise lavished upon Senator Obama’s recent performance, what masterpiece of rhetoric remains to the MSM to adequately describe his response to the likely future question about the McCain / Wright nexus?

Doesn’t the word “Gook” equate better with “Nazi” rather than “Grandma”? After all, both words have 4 characters (like the surname of “He Who Cannot Be Named”).
