This strange election cycle continues to surprise

Just when you thought it was going to be hard for this surprising election cycle to surpass itself, we have this story from AP

Democrat Barack Obama said Wednesday he talks regularly with former vice president Al Gore and would consider putting him in a Cabinet-level position or higher. A woman at a town hall asked the Illinois senator if elected president would he consider tapping the former vice president for his Cabinet, or an even higher level office, to address global warming.

“I would,” Obama said. “Not only will I, but I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this problem. He’s somebody I talk to on a regular basis. I’m already consulting with him in terms of these issues, but climate change is real. It is something we have to deal with now, not 10 years from now, not 20 years from now.”

The only position higher than a Cabinet post is vice president. While Obama seemed to dangle that possibility in his answer Wednesday, he has repeatedly said it is far too early to discuss potential vice presidents because the nomination has not been won.

Apparently, Senator Obama has been thinking about this for some months. ABC from last October: “I can promise you that as president I will have him involved in our administration in a very senior capacity in his role…having won the Nobel peace prize and an Oscar that being Vice President again would be probably a step down for him.”

Gore, not known for his reticence these days, has been conspicuously silent in the primary season so far, according to Dick Morris. Is it inconceivable that he might sign up, during this most surprising election, to try to become the longest serving Vice President in US history? He might be the prerfect choice for Senator Obama.

That sort of nonsense always makes me laugh.

“Gee, I have NO IDEA whom I will ask to be my Vice President.”

“Supreme Court Justices? Do I pick those?”

Sheesh, even I have a first, second, and third choice. Just in case there’s a big draft movement at the convention.

I know whom he won’t ask, although she’s almost begging for it- Senator Clinton. Being President is already dangerous enough.

Wow. So yeah, as a republican who got swept up into Obama mania, I’m going to have to go back to voting the party line again despite my dislike of our candidate. Seriously, how hard is it to realize that Al Gore is no better than a war profiteer? I don’t want that snake anywhere near my government, we’ve got enough of them already.

Global Warming stopped in 1998, we’re heading into a cooling phase now. As for “stopping climate change”… Idiots, you can’t stop natural processes on a global scale. Thats about as sensible as commanding the tides to stop.
