I was discouraged by many reader comments on that Polipundit post.

IMO the GOP is dominated by a coalition of grifters and zealots.  (I have the same impression about the Democrats, but I&#039;ve paid less attention to them than to the Republicans.)  The zealots pursue their culture wars and the grifters batten.</description>
