A response to Senator Biden’s prediction of an “international crisis”

Senator Obama had this to say about the remarkable comments of his running mate (video here) that the US would face an international crisis with military implications in the early months of an Obama presidency:

Joe sometimes engages in rhetorical flourishes. but, I think that his core point was that the next administration is going to be tested regardless of who it is because of the fact that we have — uh, the next administration is going to be inheriting a whole host of really big problems. And so, the president is going to be tested. And the question is,

will the next president meet that test by moving America in a new direction by sending a clear signal to the rest of the world that we are no longer about bluster and unilateralism and ideology but we’re about, uh, creating partnerships around the world to solve practical problems. That’s going to be the best way to meet that test.

So, as with the Kerry campaign, once again it would appear that there is going to be a global test applied to US actions in its own interests, this time couched in the language of “partnerships.” This really is not surprising. Senator Obama has been quite clear about his views on these matters, as this video shows, and as this very disturbing Dukakis-like debate response illustrate.

UPDATE — We note that the re-cut Obama video now excludes the references to the provocative group, the Caucus for Priorities, that we quoted in our excerpt. Not surprising.

So the test is going to be whether we have the courage and vision to appease our enemies.

Think of all the presidents since FDR who failed that test. Think of what will happen when we pass.

The way to rectify George “Mission Accomplished” Bush’s reckless incompetent squandering of American power is not to swing to the opposite extreme.

  2. David/California Says:

Biden stated unequivocally that an “Obama Administration” would be tested. Obama deliberately misstates his assertion by stating “the next administration”, then gives an answer that utterly ignores the issue.

An our media sits there, their worshipful gaze fixed on their secular messiah, as these pearls of misdirection and prevarication drip from his holy lips.

Is a prefrontal lobotomy required for a ‘journalism’ degree?
