I have always understood that Khamenei is the power in Iran. I have also been told that only pre-approved candidates can run. If that is the case, why would Khamenei rig the election and incur the wrath of the Iranian people? Could he not pull the strings on the Mousavi marionette as easily as with Ahmadinejad? Or does Mad Jad possess some qualities that Khamenei feels is important for the president of Iran to have? Hmmm...... I don’t really understand what is going on here.
