He thinks you’re stupid, and maybe he’s right

President Obama’s radio address includes both a whopper and a howler, in that order:

In a little over one hundred days, this Recovery Act has worked as intended…

I realize that when we passed this Recovery Act, there were those who felt that doing nothing was somehow an answer. Today, some of those same critics are already judging the effort a failure although they have yet to offer a plausible alternative.

This fellow Obama has become incredibly tiresome with his oversized misstatement of facts, and that awful straw man device that just won’t go away. We remind you of what the Obama team promised in great detail as a result of the stimulus and what has actually eventuated:

Obama says: “some of those same critics are already judging the effort a failure although they have yet to offer a plausible alternative.” Well, the effort is in fact a failure and was not designed to be a success — any “stimulus” that spends almost all the money in the out years is definitionally not a stimulus. And what kind of stimulus focuses on dog parks, government boondoggles, and hooker retraining programs anyway? Here’s an idea from a critic: a payroll tax cut or something similar and across the board. It appears that Obama really thinks the people are stupid; it remains to be seen if he is correct.

The stimulus bill IS working as intendend.
It’s just that the intent is not to stimulate but to destroy the economy.
