This guy was president of Harvard?
We argued way back when that Harvard should have fired Larry Summers for failing to stand up and act like a man after he gave those lady professors the vapors. Now we have another reason to question the judgment of this strange fellow. According to the Politico, Larry Summers rattled off the accomplishments of the so-called stimulus bill and made the case that:
the economic free-fall has ended. The number of people searching for the term “economic depression” on Google is down to normal levels, Summers said.
That’s a very strange definition of good news. By the way, even though the traffic is down since last September — when it really did seem that the world was poised for a new Great Depression — the Google search currently produces 8,700,000 entries for economic depression. Yikes!

Would I be cynical if I proposed an alternative explanation: the number of people with internet access has declined, due to job losses and not being able to afford broadband?
My hypothesis is at least rational and testable, and I pay my taxes. I guess that makes me overqualified for this administration.
