Differing views from doctors

Some studies show doctor support for Obamacare. Others do not, sometimes dramatically so. IBD reports on doctors’ views on the issue of Obamacare, as reflected in a recent poll:

Two-thirds, or 65%, of doctors say they oppose the proposed government expansion plan. This contradicts the administration’s claims that doctors are part of an “unprecedented coalition” supporting a medical overhaul…45%, said they “would consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement” if Congress passes the plan the Democratic majority and White House have in mind…

It also differs with findings of a poll released Monday by National Public Radio that suggests a “majority of physicians want public and private insurance options,” and clashes with media reports such as Tuesday’s front-page story in the Los Angeles Times with the headline “Doctors Go For Obama’s Reform.”…the Times…says only that the AMA — the “association representing the nation’s physicians” and what “many still regard as the country’s premier lobbying force” — is “lobbying and advertising to win public support for President Obama’s sweeping plan.” The AMA, in fact, represents approximately 18% of physicians…

seven in 10 doctors, or 71% — the most lopsided response in the poll — answered “no” when asked if they believed “the government can cover 47 million more people and that it will cost less money and the quality of care will be better.”…

Ah yes, but what will critics say about the motives of the docs?

Final point: as for the WHO study that showed the US to be 37th in the world in health care: any study that ranks Andorra, San Marino, Oman and Malta in the Top Ten in quality of healthcare is worthy of some skepticism, as we have discussed. HT: Roger Simon

A little bit more fuel for the fire.

WHEN Obama mandates all health care workers must provide abortion, contraception and euthanasia, a very very large percentage of health care workers (predominately bu not exclusively Catholics) will leave their practices and/or move away from the US.

    Just fact.

Per a CBS News poll, public support for the public option rose from 57 percent to 68 percent after President Obama’s speech last week. People in the United States pay almost twice as much as the rest of the world for medical care while we rank behind 44 other countries in infant mortality and behind 49 countries in life expectancy. Moreover, a recent study of private insurers in California showed denial of up to 40 percent of claims.

Republicans have abandoned nearly all of their humanity. One cannot compromise with people whose only goal is to make the sitting president look bad so they can score cheap political points for the next election.

Steve, are you saying that “Obama-Hitler” is different than “Bush-Hitler”? What would those differences be?

I’m not looking to score some cheap political points. I really want to understand your point of view.

Steve, your “statistics” are flat out wrong. Support for Saint Obama’s health care “plan” bumped slightly after his silly TV speech. That support quickly fell away, and it is not LOWER than it was before Saint Obama’s latest TV reading. All he does is “read” from his ever present teleprompters, and increasingly fewer people bother to watch his endless TV reading sessions.

Your nonsense about how much Americans pay for health care are risible, uninformed twaddle. I would tell you how, but I doubt that you would understand, so I will leave you to you laughable ignorance.

Saint Obama does not need any help at all from Republicans to look bad, if not stupid, two-faced, mealy mouthed, manipulative, unprincipled, and overall, disgusting. Your description of Republicans actually fits to a tee what Democrats did endlessly to G W Bush – you are simply projecting your own cheap points onto Republicans.

Typo – “not LOWER than it was before Saint Obama’s latest TV reading.” Should be “NOWt LOWER than it was before Saint Obama’s latest TV reading.”
