This is not a parody

This is a statement by President Obama on Iran:

I have made it clear that the United States of America wants to move beyond this past, and seeks a relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran based upon mutual interests and mutual respect. We do not interfere in Iran’s internal affairs. We have condemned terrorist attacks against Iran. We have recognized Iran’s international right to peaceful nuclear power.

We have demonstrated our willingness to take confidence-building steps along with others in the international community. We have accepted a proposal by the International Atomic Energy Agency to meet Iran’s request for assistance in meeting the medical needs of its people. We have made clear that if Iran lives up to the obligations that every nation has, it will have a path to a more prosperous and productive relationship with the international community.

Meanwhile, Iran has stepped up uranium production, Israel seized weapons from Iran bound for Hezbollah, and protesters in Tehran apparently chanted “Obama, Obama are you with us or the regime.” This is a wacky time in America, but also a very sad and dangerous one.

So our president has responded to criticism from the Iranian regime? So much for that “diplomatic option” he was calling for during the campaign — now he’s trying to communicate through the media. It looks to me like he’s running around trying to put corks in the Titanic’s hull as it continues to list further and further. When the most powerful government in the world responds to a mullocracy things are truly out of hand. There’s no there there, as I believe Dorothy Parker said, anticipating US foreign policy half a century in the future. F

obama may be beginning to realize someone is going to have to attack iran… and he’s going on the record…

O: “We have condemned terrorist attacks against Iran.”

I’m reasonably on top of current events. Can someone please explain:
    1) Who committed “terrorist attacks against Iran”?
    2) When did “we” condemn such attacks?
    3) Who is “we”?

Did I miss a news cycle?

Based on the two paragraphs it looks to me like he is telling Iran, ‘I have bent over and greased up for you and I have dropped to my knees for you. What do I have to do to please you?’

I can’t believe what I just read. It looks like President Present is doing it again: nothing.
Oh, Irwin, I’m glad you asked that question. I was asking myself the same thing. I guess he’s referring to the democratic protests that are taking place over there. After all, didn’t his administration call those who protested here in September against his planned takeover of America nothing but a bunch of conservative terrorists?

Once again, we get glib and meaningless babble from our so-called leader. I pity people who deceive themselves into believing this means anything.

Doubt me? Who has committed to do what, by when? What must not be done, and what will the consequences be if it is?

It sounds like we’re going to give some unspecified medical aid, in return for nothing. Mail them a Band Aid. I believe in meeting commitments.
