Coincidence?

The SEC charged Goldman Sachs with fraud, and we received this email from President Obama, railing about the Wall Street “titans” who are responsible for the loss of 8 million jobs in the US:

It has now been well over a year since the near collapse of our entire financial system that cost the nation more than 8 million jobs. To this day, hard-working families struggle to make ends meet.

We’ve made strides — businesses are starting to hire, Americans are finding jobs, and neighbors who had given up looking are returning to the job market with new hope. [Huh? -- ed.] But the flaws in our financial system that led to this crisis remain unresolved.

Wall Street titans still recklessly speculate with borrowed money. Big banks and credit card companies stack the deck to earn millions while far too many middle-class families, who have done everything right, can barely pay their bills or save for a better future. We cannot delay action any longer. It is time to hold the big banks accountable

So apparently it’s no longer Bush that Obama and the Democrats intend to run against in the fall — it’s Wall Street and those nasty bankers who have cost the country “8 million” jobs, as Obama said. Good luck with that. We think it’s a tad delusional. So is this: President Obama apparently thinks Americans are so stupid that they should be thanking him at Tea Party rallies for the tax cuts he has bestowed upon the people. Good grief, what a pickle we’re in!

He better hope that the public is too dense to connect the dots between the toxic assets that brought on the crash and the policies that created the risky mortgages that became the toxic assets and the Democrat takeover of Congress in 2006.

It is past time to hold Congress accountable, Mr President.

Look at the bright side, if the party of “no” lets the country go up in flames we won’t need oil from Iraq any more. If they get their way on financial reform we won’t have to wonder if we will have another Great Depression, it will only be a matter of how soon.
