The nefarious photo ID
The head of the DNC said this (HT: Politico)
now you have the Republicans, who want to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws and literally -– and very transparently -– block access to the polls to voters who are more likely to vote for Democratic candidates than Republican candidates. And it’s nothing short of that blatant…
photo I.D. laws…are very similar to a poll tax. I mean you look -– just look at African-American voters as a snapshot. About 25 percent of African-American voters don’t have a valid photo ID…it’s similar to a poll tax is because you’ve got the expense. You’ve got the effort…there’s difficulties for many people in getting a photo I.D. So, you’re literally just throwing a barrier in the way of someone who’s trying to exercise their right to vote.
Does the head of the DNC complain when going to an airport, we wonder. Let’s split the difference. How about the Iraqi solution and no voting by mail?

At some point, white Americans have to stop being cowed by the alleged claims of blacks that it is discriminatory to expect them to live up to the same norms of western civilization (in this example, trustworthy elections) that the rest of us recognize as essential to a free, orderly, and prosperous society.

Anyone too stupid, lazy or irresponsible to have ID shouldn’t vote. It’s free.
