Everything’s too complicated
If you want to cut spending, why get complicated? Cut everything 10% across the board. Then do it again. Don’t like that? Try 1%.
But governments at every level today don’t have much use for common sense: “We were not aware of how the lemonade was made, who made the lemonade, of what the lemonade was made with, so we acted accordingly by city ordinance” and shut down the kids’ lemonade stand. Has everyone on a government payroll lost their minds?
