If this is what they’re saying in public….

….imagine what they’re saying in private. NYT:

party leaders at all levels said their worries have intensified as the economy has displayed new signs of weakness. They said the likelihood of a highly competitive 2012 race is increasing as the Republican field, once dismissed by many Democrats as too inexperienced and conservative to pose a serious threat, has started narrowing to two leading candidates, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, who have executive experience and messages built around job creation…“In my district, the enthusiasm for him has mostly evaporated,” said Representative Peter A. DeFazio, Democrat of Oregon. “There is tremendous discontent with his direction.”

Perhaps this is why various Timesmen sound even more hysterical than usual lately (Friedman, Krugman, Krugman, Blow, etc.).

One Response to “If this is what they’re saying in public….”

  1. Neil Says:

Defazio represents Eugene and Corvallis (U. of Oregon and Oregon State), primarily. He’s the canary in the Progressive coal mine. My understanding is that Wall Street and the Jewish community has pretty much dropped the President, so this probably means that President Obama’s core support is down to union officials and the black community.

If blacks begin to drift away from him, impeachment proceedings will follow. I don’t know what for, “and misdemeanors” covers a lot of territory if you really want it to. I’ll be watching for black leaders talking about President Obama’s not-quite-black background as the tell-tale.
