Where’s the fiddle?
NYT (see also John Steele Gordon):
Obama on Monday will call for a new minimum tax rate for individuals making more than $1 million a year to ensure that they pay at least the same percentage of their earnings as middle-income taxpayers…Obama will not specify a rate or other details, and it is unclear how much revenue his plan would raise…The millionaires’ rate would affect only 0.3 percent of taxpayers…fewer than 450,000; 144 million returns were filed for 2010.
Rome has been burning for years at this point, and these guys can’t even find their fiddles. Can the Democrats possibly think that this insipid strategy is going to be effective?

How about we just stop exempting donations to all these foundations and charities and let the government get its bite? That would shut Warren Buffett up for sure.
