Rubbish

Someone said: We can’t just drill our way to lower gas prices -– not when we consume 20 percent of the world’s oil.” Rubbish. And just the latest in a long line of nonsensical statements. And yet there’s not a hint of modesty about the fellow, not any indication that he cares that what he is saying makes no sense.

That is Zero’s excuse and he seems to be sticking with it.

It is a pathetic and pessimistic line of thinking. Let’s hope the voters see it that way as well.

One wonders what our production would be if our oil companies were allowed to go after it?

Just in Texas, thanks to fracking:

“I could paint a scenario for you where we are producing 3 million more barrels per day by 2016, which would almost get us to the point where we could eliminate 60 to 70 percent of our OPEC imports,” Texas Railroad Commissioner Barry Smitherman told The News. “With that greater control over our own energy security, we could care less about what happens in the Strait of Hormuz.”

That’s not counting ND. Or increased drilling offshore. Or ANWR.

    Lots of optimism here:

It looks likely to me that we could be very close to self-sufficient on oil production it the Government would just get out of the way.
